Presenting Symptoms of Qovid

Here, in no particular order, are the presenting symptoms that you may be a victim of the Qovid virus, a spiritual disease that causes Catholics to mutate into Qatholics and Christians to mutate into Qhristians.

Victims of the virus lose their belief in apostolic, biblical Christianity in both its theological and moral dimensions and become increasingly incapable of anything but recitation of simple, stupid, and often transparently false lies. Rather than the creed, they come to believe there is no god but Trump and Sean Hannity is his prophet. Rather than the Sermon on the Mount, Qovid victims listen to their god’s belief in hating and lying about his enemies and hitting back ten times harder rather than turning the other cheek. If you start manifesting these symptoms, call an exorcist, deprogrammer, or possibly somebody to just slap you hard repeatedly until you stop being a fool.

Symptom: Conspiratorial worldview

If you take seriously the notion that QANON, Pizzagate, the Deep State, the Deep Church, alien DNA, Reptilians, demon sperm or some rando guys in a video telling you the President are right about hydroxylchloroquine and all the experts are wrong, seek treatment immediately. You are infected.

If you think OAN is reliable, but every reputable media source is Fake News plotting to invent tons of documentation about the only trustworthy man on earth–Donald Trump–seek treatment immediately. You are infected.

If you believe Sr. Lucia was replaced with a body double, or that Pope Francis is a heretical antipope or antichrist, you have been infected, seek help immediately.

If you think the paranoid slander of a good and honorable public servant is not batshit crazy, you have been infected. Seek help immediately in the sacrament of confession, because you aren’t just dumb, you are a filthy liar:

I'm not in the mood today for you to call me names. had a doctor treat me like I'm stupid today. think doctors are not gawds. just posted this meme for... More JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS A DOCTOR Mengele Kevorkian Fauci DOESN'T MEAN THEY USE THEIR ABILITIES FOR GOOD'

Symptom: Fundamentalist belief in the opposition of science and the Faith

If you find arguments like, “If evolution is real how come we still have apes? CHECKMATE, SHEA!” to be persuasive, have yourself checked immediately.

If you seriously believe that Bill Gates had COVID created in a Chinese Lab so that he could inject people with 5G nanobot tracking tech, your Qovid infection may already be so severe that it has melted your brain.

If you think all the public health professionals in the world are liars and only the man who destroyed our pandemic response capacity, handed blue state residents over to death since they were not politically useful, and talked about injecting bleach as a cure while his criminal neglect killed 177K Americans can be trusted, you are badly infected.

Symptom: Callousness toward and even enjoyment of sadistic cruelty to the weak, poor, or disabled

Do you, like Tucker Carlson, feel a compulsion to take up the “It never happened and besides he had it coming” drumbeat Rod Dreher started in the surge to smear the memory of cold-blooded murder victim George Floyd. Between “He was no angel” and “You did not just see what you obviously saw” the right wing cult of lies reliably attempts to kill its victims twice.

Image may contain: ‎text that says '‎The American Conservative onser @amconmag Dreher: "If George Floyd at any point in that eight minutes had simply obeyed the police' lawful, legitimate orders, he would be alive today. That is different from fully exonerating the cops. 2EX0-06 GELD CIW 28127. X6OXEESTD পדಾ Who Killed George Floyd? George Floyd The American Conservative Newly released bodycam footage shows that he hysterically resisted arrest eight minutes @theamericanconservative.com PM 4,2020 TweetDeck‎'‎
Shorter Dreher: Terrified man expected to be killed and was killed. So it was his fault for being terrified and resisting being killed. What else could they do but kill him?

Do you savor lies about and cruelty to the memory of murder victims like this man does?

Image may contain: text that says 'Austin Ruse @austinruse Replying to @moreywrites and @amconmag Everything you've been told about George Floyd is a lie. He was a drug addled skell who brought on his own death 10:16 AM 05 Aug 20 Twitter for iPhone'

Do you relish the idea of destroying water supplies so that you can murder desperate people by thirst in the desert?

Do you orgasm at the sadism of tearing children from their parents and lying that you are saving those traumatized children from “human trafficking”?

Do you enjoy then spitting in the face of Almighty God by pivoting to defend the swine who wishes accused child sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell the best?

Do you take some kind of deep sick pleasure in defending the wilful passive euthanasia of desperate refugees by means of COVID? Do you get an extra frisson of pleasure from telling the people to whose murder you are a willing accomplice, “The law is the law!”

Do you further enjoy the cruelty of adding that the law is not the law when your god king ignores and overrules it in wilful acts of raw corruption against the innocent and in defense of the brutal and lawless.

Are you so sociopathic you seriously think this is empathy?

If so, you have been infected with Qovid and should seek treatment immediately.

Symptom: The conviction that opposition to abortion taketh away the sins of the conservative and authorizes you to do any evil and say any ridiculous lie.

Image may contain: 3 people, text that says 'JESUS AIDX Thursday at 9:50 PM ' PRAY THAT TRUMP WILL BE ABLE TO STOP THOSE WHO MURDER BABIES! #TrumpOurProLifePresident2020'

The superstitious belief that Trump is the Most Prolife President in the History of Ever is completely unfounded and yet the Most Wrong Demographic in the World clings to it anyway, because Pride cannot bear to admit error. It doesn’t matter that Trump has, in fact, raised funding for Planned Parenthood every year.

Meawhile, the single proudest boast of the “prolife” MAGA cultist is the Mexico City policy. Dems cancel it when they come to power and Republicans always reinstate it as their Participation Trophy to their “prolife” base when they return. It is the MAGA cult’s perpetual boast that this proves the GOP is “truly prolife”.

Fun Fact: did you know that the Mexico City policy causes a huge rise in abortion rates? Up to 40% in sub-Saharan Africa?

And yet, neither the GOP nor the MAGA cult cares at all. Because what matters is emitting anti-abortion pieties, not actual results of GOP policies. It’s the conservative Christian equivalent of making sure the precise amount of mint, dill, and cummin are tithed while you beat your wife and kids and shag porn stars. What matters in this gnat-straining/camel swallowing cult is not that you do good, but that you look and sound good.

This is why I say that Qatholic and Qhristian piety is founded on a soteriology that teaches “Opposition to abortion taketh away the sins of the Right”. Merely rubbing a Precious Feet pin absolves of all sin–including the sin of actually increasing abortions. Conversely, saying you support choice is the unforgivable sin, even if your actual policies lower the abortion rate, as Dem policies do. Actual unborn children do not matter to this antichrist form of piety. Just saying the correct things does, no matter how deadly the results.

If you have a problem with that, you may be feverish with Qovid.

Symptom: Deep belief in your own persecution

Conservative Qatholic and Qhristian culture believes unswervingly in one thing: self-pity. If there is one thing it obsesses over, it is the Coming Persecution. For the Qatholic and Qhristian, there is persecution hiding behind every rock. Everything from Avatar to Harry Potter to the Pope to having to wear a mask for 10 minutes when you go to the grocery store is a plot against Real Believers.

Image may contain: text that says 'FOR AM CONVINCED THAT NEITHER DEATH NOR LIFE, NEITHER ANGELS NOR DEMONS, NEITHER THE PRESENT NOR NOR THE FUTURE, NOR ANY POWERS, NEITHER HEIGHT NOR DEPTH, NOR ANYTHING ELSE IN ALL CREATION, WILL BE ABLE TO SEPARATE SEPARATE US FROM THE LOVE OF GOD THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD. ONLY MASKS CAN DO THAT.'

Trump understands this and is milking that for all it is worth. A week or so ago, EWTN did a characteristic suckup interview with him in which he gave this characteristic answer:

Image

Then he followed up with this candidate for a “Who Said It?: Meth-Head or Trump?” word salad:

“No religion, no anything. Hurt the Bible, hurt God. He’s against God, he’s against Guns, he’s against Energy.”

Trump’s sole message to the Qatholic media is “You are the victims of persecution by liberals–including your bishops–who are cruelly demanding you think of somebody besides yourself as you eat your cracker thingie or whatever. I alone am your Savior!”

If you believe you are a persecuted white conservative Christian living in the United States and threatened constantly with dreadful suffering for your Faith, you may not yet have Qovid, but you are the most at-risk demographic on the planet, of which more later.

  1. To obtain a murder or manslaughter conviction against the officers, the state will have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the officers caused his death. According to the autopsy he died of a heart attack. Now I don’t think it’s a coincidence that he died when he did, but I don’t see how the state can meet its burden. One of the officers has moved to dismiss these charges.

It is also a fact that Floyd was hopped up on drugs. If he had been cooperative he would most likely be alive.

Floyd was a career criminal who served a ten year bid for orchestrating a home invasion where he pointed a gun at a woman.

      1. A jury isn’t bound by a coroner’s determination and, from my experience, a coroner doesn’t determine the cause of death “beyond a reasonable doubt.” Again, I do think the officers’ actions caused Floyd’s death, but I don’t think the state will be able to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. I think the state will prevail on an assault charge.

      2. Mark, your willingness to comment on things you know nothing about (the Floyd case, Calvinism, the church’s teaching on hell, the Bible, etc) is duly noted.

      1. I was a prosecutor for ten years. What’s your experience in the criminal justice system?

      2. If a random stranger says he was a prosecutor, then clearly I should disbelieve my own eyes and trust whatever he says about a murder and Trump’s sympathy for a sex trafficker.

      3. “Another Trump cultist”? How do you know that Mark? I didn’t vote for Trump and won’t be voting for him in 2020.

“Murder a black victim twice.” How do you that it was murder? Are you a physician much less a medical examiner?

I’m not familiar with this web site, but it produces a memo from the chief Medical Examiner who reports that Floyd had a lethal amount of Fenatyl in his body when he died.

        https://bigleaguepolitics.com/new-documents-reveal-minneapolis-medical-examiner-would-conclude-george-floyd-died-of-a-drug-overdose/

      4. And Floyd died in the hospital, 45 minutes after the restraint ended. As the ME said, in normal circumstances this would be ruled death by overdose.

  2. Apparently Trump knows Maxwell a bit. Perhaps his impression of her was that she was not the kind of person who would commit a crime like that. He “wished her well” and noted that she was at this point only accused. I don’t see what is so bad about this.

    1. @ mike Miller

Did he wish George Floyd well? Oh, no. he couldn’t. Mr. Floyd is dead. Qilled by a Qop, no less

True, maxwell is only aqqused…by numerous people who also aqqused Epstein, Who had already been tried and qonvicted, who qonveniently died while in federal qustody Before he could name names.

I can see that you are totally Qurious about all of this. Mrs. clinton was also accused of all sorts of things, like runninga child trafficking ring out of the basement of a pizza restaurant that doesnt have one. she was also responsible for the deaths of four people in a terror attack— while certan senators accusing her before and after that attack voted For a reduction in funds in embassy security.

Thank you for being the poster boy for Qrazy people.

      1. I’m not sure what any of this has to do with my comment. Part of the reason Trump said he wished her well was because he was afraid she would get “epsteined.”

    2. My biggest reservation about having Kamala Harris on the D ticket is that she, like Mike Miller, used to be a prosecutor, and is thus fatally morally compromised. The US has the highest incarceration rate on Earth, the prison-industrial complex runs our justice system, and anyone who ever played a role in that system is beneath contempt. Her prosecutorial track record bears this out: her clear goal was to put as many people in prison as possible, for as long as possible. I’ve been looking for signs of repentance in her. Haven’t seen any.
I will still hold my nose and vote Biden/Harris, because the alternative makes it a moral imperative. But this is absolutely a sad year for America.

      1. One can almost understand why the Quacks came up with “Lizard People”.

This morning a friend asked me, “Did you know that so-and-so was once married to Gavin Newsom??” I suppose if Lizard people were real, they wouldn’t have a problem changing their visible stripes to maintain their status at the top of a good food chain.

      2. Yes, the criminal justice system in America is a scandal, but no, not every prosecutor is “fatally morally compromised” or “beneath contempt.” That’s absurd.

      3. @ joel

I was in the criminal justice system 35 years ago. One of the reasons I left was because I decided that it was far more criminal that it was just. So, in one sense, I agree with you. The overarching problem with the criminal justice system is not morally compromised people in it, but there is certainly that. The biggest problem with it is its size, and what it is supposed to accomplish versus the laws, versus the incomeptence versus what it can accomplish. It is a gigantic bureaucracy which, like every bureaucracy, exists to perpetuate itself. Most of the cops I met with pretty decent people, though there were significant number of bad ones. Most of the judges seem to be OK, as were most of my fellow probation officers, and certainly, the public defenders and the district attorneys.

The single biggest problem from my point of view was the drug war. Huge amounts of money and energy go to “combat“ a problem which is far more of a medical and psyhological problem than it is a criminal problem. An Awful lot of people make an awful lot of money from the drug problem. They are not interested in having the situation changed.

Likewise, for various reasons, a lot of psychological problems end up being criminal problems. One of the things that decided me on leaving was a youngish black man of about 30, who had a history of psychological problems, all of them documented. He physically assaulted his sister over something or other, mostly because he was off of his meds. He had an incompetent public defender, who did a plea bargain for him to go to state prison for three years. I was outraged and shocked by it. If they were going to send him to prison, they might as well have sentenced him to death, because there was no way he was going to survive there. He was, As we say in the techNical end of the business, CRAZY. But Nothing medication couldn’t handle.

The judge agreed to this absurdity. I went to the judge to explain to him that he was crazy – the defendant, not the judge. The judge was merely ignorant and incompetent. The judge said that there was nothing he could do about it. I was the one that went to the evidence code and showed him where he could commit the guy to Vacaville state prison, which is a psychiatric facility, where the young man could get help and supervision. The judge was shocked – shocked, I tell you – To fond out that there was something in the law that he didn’t know about. He wouldn’t undo the plea bargain, which pissed me off no end. But at least, he didn’t send this young man to the general prison population.

      4. @ taco

Yes. Junior Jabba’s girlfriend was the former Mrs. Newsom. I was not happy when he got nailed for his extramarital affair, because I expected far better of him. But I began to have a lot more sympathy for him the more I learned about her, and her current sleeping arrangements more than exonerate him.

      5. @ Neko
I stand by what I wrote, though perhaps I should explain. I didn’t arrive at my view of widespread prosecutorial malfeasance because of anything I saw in the news, nor from watching “13th” (which I nonetheless recommend), nor from anything that happened directly to me. No, my trip here began 15 years ago, when I served on a jury. I had a front row seat to watch four cops lie from the witness stand to pin charges on a kid who was clearly innocent. I was not the only juror who saw it that way – we all did. In the end we deliberated less than 15 minutes before finding “not guilty” on all charges. So, yah, corrupt cops.
But ever since then I’ve been thinking about that prosecutor who argued the case. She was sharp, clearly smart enough to see that this was an entirely bogus case. And yet she brought the case anyway, argued it to the best of her (impressive) ability, and may actually have convinced us if not for the fact that those cops were such obvious liars. Why did she do it? What could motivate a talented young lawyer to expend so much effort to try to put an innocent in jail? We can argue about the causes of corruption in America’s criminal justice system, but we cannot argue against the fact that America has the highest incarceration rate on Earth – and prosecutors are on the front lines making it happen.
I know that not all prosecutors are corrupt. Larry Krasner in Philadelphia and Kim Foxx in Chicago are doing good work. But the fact that these two are such glaring exceptions in their profession is telling.

    3. One of the hardest things a reasonably intelligent person can do in life, is to admit that they were wrong, or have lived a lie. The lie might have come close to the surface at moments, but the cognitive dissonance is too much to bear.

The longer the lie is lived, the more grooves are created in the brain to accommodate the lie.

At our last judgement even our most well-crafted lies will wither away like chaff in the presence of God, who will mete out (sifted, and shaken-down) our proper remedy, based upon the remedies we meted out to others less fortunate than ourselves. The structures of sin, and institutional injustice that we relied upon to justify our actions will then look silly, like props and painted backgrounds.

The best thing any person can do on this earth is beg, “Domine ut videam!”–No matter how frightening what he inevitably shows us –will look like.

  3. Great column , Mark.

Like any good con man, trump knows his marks.

In the two years I’ve been contributing to your COM boxes, this has been my recurrent theme: religious megalomania. “I am special. I’m god’s BFFF. I speak for god. God loves me more than he loves you. I know the things that god knows. Look how powerful i am. God does what i tell him to. And you all hate me For it, and persecute me for it. But i am strong because…I am special…”

    A neVer ending, continuous loop.

  4. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-news/cbsnews-eye-on-trends/

Trump is only a symptom. The entire Republican Party is rotten.

8 in 10 GOP voters see in Trump a personal example of what they see as GOP values
72% consider Trump a good role model for kids
7 in 10 GOP voters say they want to vote for GOP candidates for Congress who do what Trump wants

It is no more possible to be a Christian and be a Republican or vote for Republicans. So naturally, the faithful can expect ‘ABORTION!!!! to be blasted from the pulpits and from bishop houses all around the country.

  5. Speechless. How do such people exist?

I wonder what portion of the population is walking around, clinically insane.

It’s like they need to FEEL something intense to feel alive. Abortion doesn’t do it for them anymore, so they needed to up the ante. That’s how drugs work–and drugs, when abused, are a substitute for a vacuum of what is real and *good*.

Anyway, that’s how I always imagined ant-christ would work. I never thought the U.S. would get such a patently obvious and VIVID example of people claiming to be Christians, who walk around saying “black is white” and “he deserved to get it!” It’s not even subtle.

So sad. Embarrassing. And now the whole world can see it too. I guess it’s good? Rose colored glasses just perpetuate lies.

    1. @ taco

Very insightful comment. I would posit that they don’t need to feel something intense to feel alive. Rather, they need to feel powerful. It’s what mainlining despite is for.

I’ve commented on this before. It’s like little children frantically waving their hands in class for the teacher to pick them.

      1. “Rather, they need to feel powerful…”

In the beginning of the pro-life movement there was genuine concern–a sense of sadness and helplessness even in the face of innocent spilled blood. There is *still* concern among the genuine and uncorrupted.

The thirst for power and revenge came for the people who never truly cared in the first place (spilled a drop of sweat for children.) Lip service has always been cheap, and a good cause lends the illusion of genuine service to the poor. Jet-setting Frank Pavone comes to mind.

Like every drug which is a replacement for something good, it entralls the user, and immediately demands more and more until it enslaves the user.

      2. @ taco

From my life experience, not that i am referring to myself here…

the search for Power over others, including moneymoneymoney, or sybaritic pleasure, including moneymoneymoney, are much easier than searching for meaning, purpose, or self discipline. And definitely more fun.

I get both on an intellectual level, but they’ve never been attractive to me. But I have learned to recognize what people are really going for.

  6. Every Republican convention speech:

    WAR IS PEACE
    FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
    IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
    TRUMP IS CHRISTIAN

as police shoot unarmed Black men in the back and escort armed Proud Boys safely through the streets.

Good versus evil, the choice is ours.

  7. The prime example of Qatholic- from the RNC on Monday:
THANK YOU, RONNA. MY NAME IS JAY AND I AM A REPUBLICAN. I AM ALSO A CATHOLIC DONALD TRUMP REPUBLICAN. BY THE GRACE OF GOD, I AM AN AMERICAN. SO LET US PRAY. THANK YOU, O LORD, FOR ALL THE GIFTS YOU PROVIDE US, NOT BECAUSE WE DESERVE THEM, BUT SOLELY THROUGH YOUR GRACE AND MERCY, LET US ACKNOWLEDGE THE MANY GIFTS THAT GOD HAS BESTOWED UPON US, STARTING WITH A PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT THAT REFLECT THE VALUES OF OUR FOUNDING FATHERS. AND ARE WILLING TO FIGHT FOR THOSE VALUES, STARTING WITH LIFE, KNOWING THAT ALL LIFE IS PRECIOUS, FROM CONCEPTION TO NATURAL DEATH. THERE IS NO CHOICE TO FIGHT FOR THE UNBORN. FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE TRUE TO OUR CATHOLIC FAITH, WE PRAY FOR AN END FOR THE INTRINSIC EVIL THAT IS ABORTION. GIVE US THE STRENGTH TO FIGHT FOR OUR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM AS OUR PRESIDENT DOES, AND INSTILL IN US A SPIRIT AND COMMITMENT TO STAND WITH THE POOR IN A CONTINUED FIGHT FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM. WE PRAY IN THANKSGIVING FOR THE MEMBERS OF OUR ARMED FORCES AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO SACRIFICE GREATLY TO ENSURE OUR SACRED FREEDOM. THAT WE ALL TOO OFTEN TAKE FOR GRANTED SO THAT WE CAN LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE. AND, OH LORD, WE WILL BE FOREVER RATE FOR THAT YOU HAVE BLESSED THIS NATION WITH GREAT MEN AND WOMEN — GRATEFUL THAT YOU HAVE BLESSED THIS NATION WITH GREAT MEN AND WOMEN. WE WILL NOT FORGET THAT WE CANNOT BE A GREAT NATION AND SERVE YOU WITHOUT THE RULE OF LAW. WE ARE ALL SINNERS AND NONE OF US ARE PERFECT. WE RECOGNIZE THAT FAITH IS A JOURNEY. IT IS NOT WHERE WE START THAT JOURNEY, BUT WHERE WE ARE NOW AND WHERE WE STRIVE TO BE. HELP US ALL TO FOLLOW PRESIDENT TRUMP, WHOSE ACTIONS SHOW HE IS ON THE JOURNEY TO YOU, LORD. THAT IS NOT BE DECEIVED BY THOSE WHO WERE ONCE CLOSE TO YOU BUT HAVE TURNED AWAY IN FAVOR OF EMBRACING POLITICAL IDEOLOGY YET CLAIMING CATHOLIC BELIEFS AND WORDS WHILE THEIR ACTIONS TURN

  8. I saw Andy’s rather lengthy all-caps quote, and for some reason, i thought it was a new column by Mark. (Not a criticism, andy). I was in the middle of writing something on another blog related to This Very Subject, and a thought to myself, “Self, this is so effing apropos.” So, with a few changes, im going to post it here. This was in response to an article in The Christian Post, and another in Relevant.

Summing it all up, some evangelicals are Ever So Upset about Q. Well, goshes!!!! Who coulda seen this one coming, Binky?

The money shots Are HERE: “Carter, the executive pastor at the McLean Bible Church Arlington campus in Virginia, labeled QAnon a “political cult” and “satanic movement” that “poses [a threat] to the global church.” Carter called on Christians to “work to guard those who would fall for such deceptions” and to “plead” with QAnon supporters within the church “to return to the faith.”

    AND

“But the fact that Christians seem extra open to conspiracies does reveal that something is deeply broken in how people of faith are spreading their worldview.“

So much drama! It’s always the Debbil, working his evil ways, and never a matter of personal responsibility. Responsibility is so Last Millenium.

I believe that they call this playing both sides, or playing both ends against the middle. Translating the first quote in terms of the second, it appears that Qatholics and Qhristians are damaging the brand, and this is very upsetting to the True Christians (TM) who have been guilty of exactly the same things for the past 40-70 years, but were up until recently able to control the narrative so that it benefited themselves. It’s right there in Romans 2:1, KJV: “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.”

Or, as a good Catholic I know likes to put it: “Accusation is confession.”

But then along came the Tea Party, followed by Jabba the Trump, followed by Q, all of it being embraced by Qhristianity. And whoopsie, that narrative is out of hand. The global church? The global church has rarely been anything but a power struggle between various factions, ever since the first querulous old man raised a shaky finger, oointed it at another old man, and hissssssssssed the Magic Word: HERETIC!!! Catholic vs. orthodox, protestant vs. Catholic, protestant vs. Protestant, conservative vs. not so conservative vs. liberal— and we wont even get into other “faiths”— for money, power, and dominion. The threat isn’t to the global church because there isn’t such a thing as the global church. The threat is to established and establishment Christianity versus the upstarts who want all of that sweet, sweet money, that lovely power, and that delicious dominion over others.

Especially, in my opinion, if they can deflect attention from themselves for their own greed, or their own sins, or their own cuban pool boys, or the unlimited prey in the Jungle Of Seminary, especially the wildaltarboys. And girls. And extra especially, if they can blame the whole mess on someone else, preferably, someone Innocent, uppity and relatively powerless.

Yes indeedy, there is something deeply broken in how people of faith have been spreading their world view, and it is highly related to how they’ve been spreading their legs, so to speak, for power, money, dominion, FOR CENTURIES— and in the age of trump: REVENGE. But it was OK as long as other people were getting screwed: immigrants, liberals, women, poor people, Brown and black people, and above all, those icky, ickeeeeeeee gays.

Something about whited sepulchers (always) comes to mind; there was no problem as long as the help kept them white. But now the help is getting uppity, and all of the uncleanness is seeping out, and all of that whiteness that they were so proud of is getting a bit stained. Something about “sowing the wind”— well, mouthfarts are close enough— “and inheriting the whirlwind” also comes to mind.

The problem is not so much that those Qatholics and Qhristians need to return to the faith, but they have come to the conclusion, thanks to the establishment Catholics and Christians, that THEY ARE THE FAITH.

and the establishment doesn’t like it one bit.

But to sum it all up:

Trump, despite all of his multitudinous moral and religion failings is embraced by EvangeliQals, Qonservative Qatholics, and other Qonservative Qhristians.

Trump’s many crimes and moral failings are ignored by EvangeliQals and Other Qhristians. They like to talk about Kings David and Cyrus, but not King Jesus, that hippy. We see this in the only First Lady we have ever seen naked doing softcore ppoorrn69 being called “the classiest first lady ever”.

Trump endorses Q-Anon, a movement that is powered by and enabled by EvangeliQals and Other Qhristians.

And now what? Evangelical leaders are now denouncing Q-Anon, soon to be followed by those Catholics who aren’t Qatholic. Forgive me, for I know not what they do, while I chortle at the sheer hypocrisy and laughable attempts at having any moral high ground from these people.

    1. I say denouncing Qanon is a good thing. And if some sheep have to be found and brought back, we find joy in this being done succesfully.

  9. Dear Lord, I just watched some stuff from the RNC. Can’t you people put out an international mental health warning before putting this online?

No Platform. Just fealty to Trump. Couldn’t find a script writer. Hail Bran the Broken.
Nikki Haley’s speech made my brain bleed. Foreign policy for toddlers.
There were some gold diggers screaming to the audience. No idea what that was about.
Half the speakers have Trump as a family name. Even in Siciliy that’s considered dishonorable.

    1. Could we have Bran the Broken? Tywin, maybe? Heck, even Cersei would be an improvement.

On second thought, not Cersei. She’s more competent evil.

  10. You don’t like the idea of having to prove cause of death? That’s murdering him twice? What if the table was turned and the trial was about Floyd attacking the officer and the officer died of a heart attack while Floyd was pushing on his neck? I think it still applies. I think for Floyd to get a fair trial, you’d have to prove cause of death, which isn’t always easy. But in this case we’ve already built a public expectation that the cop should be found guilty of the most serious offense. I wouldn’t want to sit on this jury or be the judge in this case. And yes the system is flawed and the country is flawed. But what would one replace it with it. All you can do is your best at trying to fix it. All I see in the comments is got ya moments where people jump all over each other. Oh boy, I got you now! You said this or you said that. Come on, we can do better than that.
