As we close another year of gun slaughter, injury, maiming, and permanent disability…

…let’s review:

“Prolife” Gun Cult: I don’t care if we have to turn the world upside down to prevent even the possibility that a woman who may or may not be pregnant lose her baby! If even one life can be saved, then that matters more than all the so-called “personal freedoms” of all the women in America! If that means prosecutions for miscarriages and interstate traveling papers (for starters), so be it! Every. Single. Life. Is. Precious!

Also “Prolife” Gun Cult: Yeah. thousands dead each year from guns sad, but whaddayagonnadoo? Sin is in the heart, so there’s no point in keeping guns out of the hands of killers. And the fact that guns are the #1 cause of child death is sad and all, but I’m not personally guilty, so why should I be inconvenienced in any way, or have to think about it, or bother with it or stop fighting every effort to limit access to guns? Also, anything that does not fix the problem 100% is worthless and pointless. People die. It’s out of my hands. No point in being a lib snowflake about it.

Remember, in the MAGA “Pro-life” Gun Cult of Death, law exists, not to do justice, but to bind their victims and protect themselves, never to protect their victims or bind themselves. So does grace. That’s why these two memes describe the entire methodology of the “prolife” Gun Cult as it serves its true trinity: Mammon, Mars, and Moloch.

Meanwhile, here is actual Jesus on the attempt to use prayer as a prophylactic against, rather than a preparation for, obedience:

“Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ (Mt 7:21–23)

  1. That Oklahoma politician is an idiot. The worship of guns is idolatry. Guns are tools, like hammers or saws. The gun nuts seem to have a weird psycho-sexual relationship to guns. It makes me wonder if they are compensating for some shortcoming.
