Matthew 7:21-23 Illustrated

That passage reads:

“Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. .On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’”

I think of it when I see this:

Marco Rubio is a mass-murdering monster who has learned to mimic Catholic piety to set EWTN viewers and Napa Institute, Word on Fire, and Franciscan University donors aquiver as he spits on the truth that, before He revealed his Real Presence in the Eucharist, Jesus revealed his Presence in the least of these.

It profits a man nothing to gain the whole world and lose his soul, Marco. But for Trump?

Fun fact: the abortion rate in the US is about a million a year. Obama/Biden brought it to it’s lowest rate since Roe. Then the most prolifeyest President in the History of Ever drove it up 8% and left behind a shattered, plague-ridden economy and a million extra dead from COVID. But since the Cult cares only about performative piety and not actual reductions in abortion, they did not care and celebrated the mass death with January 6, where Abby Johnson was part of the mob at the Capitol.

Now, with Rubio’s signature achievement of the destruction of USAID, he and the rest of the MAGA “prolife” cult of death will be personally responsible for 14 times more deaths abroad than the annual abortion rate in the US. And they will now drive up the abortion rate domestically too, because what drives abortion rates is not supply but demand caused by poverty, which the Cult’s policies will radically sharpen. And they all believe that since they rub their Precious Feet and chant performative piety mantras they are the Greatest Christians of All Time.

The MAGA “prolife” heresy is the most spiritually and physically deadly heresy in the history of the US Church. Its hands are *drenched* in blood.

And when I pointed all out over on the Book of Face, a very pious EWTN viewer became very upset.

Not at the mass murder or the filthy hypocrisy or the blasphemy, but at me for my tone.

Of which more tomorrow.

  1. It’s curious that MAGA regards throwing the poor under the bus to enrich billionaires with additional tax cuts is somehow “Christian.” Typically, these MAGA people are not wealthy themselves and might even be struggling financially, but they seem to think that government paid health care for poor children is “socialist” and thus wrong.

Right wing Catholic websites have a weird, almost reverent attitude towards Trump. Even mild criticism is not tolerated. It’s OK to attack Pope Francis (even encouraged), but only effusive praise is allowed for Trump. It’s bizarre.

Right Wing Catholics want a “smaller, more reverent Church.” In effect, they would expel the vast majority of Catholics and remake the Church into a right wing cult. They try to be more Catholic than the Pope.

The thing that I have noticed about the Catholic Right Wing is their spiritual arrogance. They, and only they speak for God. Everyone else is a heretic and bound for Hell. The spiritual arrogance of presuming to speak for the Almighty is breathtaking. They could use a dose of humility to put it mildly.
