A fundamental tenet of the MAGA Cult is that whites are in America by right and owe nothing to nobody. When the Brown President said, “You didn’t build that” (referring to the enormous infrastructure by which these “self-made” members of the Master Race operate their businesses, they shrieked with outrage. But when Browns knelt in peaceful protest over police brutality, the Cult screamed that they should be grateful to their white masters for what they have been given.
Repeatedly, the Cult tells us that the We who are We the People, at war with Them, the Worst of the Worst, are White Supremacists:

But you won’t hear self-pitying cosplay martyr MAGA Catholics mention it, because, as ever, as long as Trump hurts those his Cult hate more than themselves, they are willing to put up with it. It’s a deeply perverted vision of martyrdom for the faith, suffering and even dying for hatred of neighbor instead of love.
Something to chew on as we remember the catastrophe of the Race War undertaken by the spiritual ancestors of the MAGA Cult in September 1939.

My mother was terrified as a child in the 1920s when the KKK burned a cross next to her Catholic school in Elkton, MD. Worst of all, her own uncle may have been involved as he was a member of the local KKK and my mother’s father, who had become Catholic, had a falling-out with that brother. Brother against brother – sound familiar from a recent Gospel? September 1st is a date that is significant for a diminishing number of people, unfortunately. Pray without ceasing and don’t cease to do other things as well to try to bring people to their senses!
Interesting parallels, but I have to protest one thing: Nazis rightly targeted Communists.
Just because Communists also suffered from Nazi oppression, mass incarceration and execution, doesn’t exonerate them, doesn’t redeem their policies and doesn’t vindicate their plans because German Communists were of the same revolutionary branch as the Bolsheviks (later Soviets) and would have used the same oppression tactics and methods. Hitler just beat them to the punch. It’s unknown whether any other political force in Interwar Germany would be able to withstand Communists if they had time to organize better. Nazis didn’t even have a ruling majority when Hitler played his gambit and only managed to secure his position by subterfuge and abuse of power.
But saying everything Nazis set out to do was wrong would be saying that mandatory paid time off or highways are wrong.
That said, I can’t find redeeming features of the current US Administration and Americans certainly have the grit to overcome MAGA, so far MAGA is overcoming them. But the checks and balances that would make it possible to oppose MAGA are being eroded and dismantled at an alarming pace and unless this is stopped and their power is reaffirmed, USA is heading straight into fascist dictatorship territory. But Trump ain’t Hitler, he’s not smart enough and rather than acknowledge that and find knowledgeable advisors, he surrounds himself with incompetent sycophants.
Oh, and just to be clear: I’m not vindicating the Nazis just because they happened to be right on some topics. I’m only suggesting to avoid using the imagery that suggests you’re supporting all their opponents and victims indiscriminately, as if they were all on the right side.
I just don’t see the parallel between Bolsheviks and illegal immigrants and equating one with another does a huge disservice to all immigrants. Just because Nazis happened to be right about the threat of Communism doesn’t vindicate their policies and doesn’t make it possible to argue they had any “good intentions” in targeting Communists (they weren’t concerned about their policies, they just didn’t want to have to share their voter base with them).
In the case of MAGA, any “good intentions” they *might* have had are overshadowed by their sheer incompetence. The indiscriminate deportations are an excellent example of achieving exactly the opposite result. Rather than deport the criminals, the real criminals [among the illegal immigrants] are just much better at hiding and avoiding drawing attention to themselves. The mass deportations themselves act as a smoke screen that perfectly obscures the criminals.
One wonders if Trump’s incompetence could lead to the possibility of a “man on a white horse” who would follow him saying “I’ll fix things – give me the power!” – someone who is competent.

Trump is becoming a Neo Confederate. Yikes! What next? Confederate flags flying over the White House? The Republicans are morphing a strange new quasi Fascist party. No thanks.
