I’ll skip the fact that you left out crucial historical context about the Taiping Rebellion (including the devastating effects that racist, VICIOUS British colonialism via the opium “trade” had on China before the rebellion) and get right to the point: how many times must nonwhite Catholics (both inside the US and worldwide) tell you over and over again that MAGA is only a mere symptom of the virulent cult known as “Americanism”? Where do you think Donald Trump is getting all of his best ideas from? Just the like Nazis who saw through all the slick US propaganda about “freedom” only to admire crucial, FOUNDATIONAL aspects of the inherently racist, genocidal “project” known as the “United States”, Trump is simply borrowing the “best” from his war criminal presidential predecessors (i.e., ALL of the US presidents since the modern definition of war crime was formulated at Nuremberg) and taking the “American democracy” mask off for all the world to see. His inauguration didn’t signify a departure from some “zenith” of US “glory”; it was simply an inglorious continuation of its hideous history since (before!) 1776. The US was NEVER a democracy. THAT’S what you’re embarrassed about, not the “American” sub-cult of MAGA (“Make America Great Again”, which originally came from racist war criminal Ronald Reagan — yes, THAT guy, who made slaughtering Catholics in Latin America and many other people around the world an art form during the 1980s in order to, ahem, “sToP tEh KoMmUnIzM”. Indeed, for all of the errors of the Soviets, at least they didn’t claim Christianity in their society, nor did they worship private property).
I repeat: MAGA isn’t THE problem here. Your CULTURE, your ECONOMIC SYSTEM (capitalism, which is ultimately based in the supremacy of private property, which is contrary to common use and the universal destination of goods), your GOVERNMENT and your so-called COUNTRY is. Which is why Trump is challenging white “Americans” everwhere to to STOP hiding behind Democrats (who ultimately want the same thing he does, just with the OVERT racism and imperialism turned back down a few notches so they can go back to pretending to love Black folk and democracy while destroying both worldwide) and support the racist “project” all the way to its “logical” conclusion. Trump knows what the US ultimately stands for. The gauntlet has been thrown down, and you fail to recognize this. It’s good that you reject Trump’s challenge on the surface, but you WON’T actually succeed with this rejection until you finally decide to reject “America” once and for all. Placing patriotism (patriotism to a disgusting, dying political “project” “founded” by slaveowners, no less) above the Magisterium and ultimately above the Kingdom is folly. Don’t defend this nonsense. Your loyalty is NOT to the US “project”, NOT to the modern-day Roman Empire, but to Christ. Pick one.
You cannot serve both God and “America”. Choose WISELY, white “American” Catholics. Because your time on stage as the pseudo-messianic “city on the hill” (i.e., time killing, pillaging, and destroying the world under the guise of being a “beacon” of Christian values) is quickly coming to an end, and you will NOT stop the final curtain from closing on your inherently racist “project”. It has already been tossed into history’s dustbin. Leave the cult while you still can.
