      1. Look what I found on the internet, under the heading ”trolls”.

”Another individual commented under the name ‘Neko.’ She was a regular on M. Shea’s blog. I believe she stopped by mine a couple times. Once she made a claim about religious people being religious because that’s what they’ve been told by mommy and daddy.”

      2. Although I’ve often been accused of being a troll, of course. That doesn’t surprise me. I can be trollish and I’ve written many things online I regret. But I’m dismayed anyone would attribute that kind of internet New Atheist bs to me. I hope they are confusing me with someone else.

Good grief, I just broke a long boycott of Friendly Atheist just to defend the National Catholic Reporter!

      3. @ Neko

It is to be found on D. Griffey’s blog, Daffey Thoughts. Jan 19 entry. I sometimes read his stuff when I want to be confirmed in my opinion that it was liberals who killed bambi.

      4. OMG! The guy is not on disqus, so I can’t reply. Sorry Mark for making this thread All About Neko, but…this is what the guy wrote:

Another individual commented under the name ‘Neko.’ She was a regular on M. Shea’s blog. I believe she stopped by mine a couple times. Once she made a claim about religious people being religious because that’s what they’ve been told by mommy and daddy. I responded that not only was I quite liberal in my youth, I was also an agnostic. I became a Christian as an adult, having been seeking the Truth for quite a few years.

Not to be dismayed, she fired back that I was a boldfaced liar. I was never an agnostic, nor was I a liberal. What? I told her I had no reason to doubt she was a mother or an atheist. Why so difficult accepting my testimony? Who would call someone a liar on the internet when they’re merely posting about themselves?

WTF. He “believes” I stopped by his blog a couple of times. He seems to know I’m an atheist and a mother, but the rest is scurrilous nonsense. Why would I call anyone a liar who claimed to once have been liberal and agnostic? Such stories are quite common. And while it’s obviously true that people tend to remain in the religion they were brought up in, my sentiments about religiosity aren’t quite so shallow as “mommy and daddy,” I hope. I’ve only been a regular at Shea’s blog since the National Catholic Reporter closed comments after the 2016 election. I had been seriously engaged with the Catholic Church and developed some insight (I hope) into religious belief. Does not comport.

Also, Andre B was no troll. I remember that guy. Very smart, thoughtful, respectful.

        Damn.
