None suffer as Mark Driscoll suffers.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEEDS OF SOCIOPATHIC WHITE MALE ANTICHRIST RELIGION PRACTITIONERS? WHY DO PREGNANT WOMEN NEVER THINK OF THEM AND THEIR NEEDS?
Ladies! Driscoll’s takeaway is clear: “If you only work harder to please me, you will be good enough”. Or, as another paragon of manliness put it, “Arbeit Macht Frei.”
Driscoll, whose manly tyranny over a Seattle Church left a trail of destruction from here to Arizona is the subject of a fascinating podcast dissecting what happens when discipleship to Jesus Christ morphs into a thing that says, (as Driscoll famously said), “I cannot worship a guy I can beat up”. His is a spirituality that worships, not Jesus, but the death squad that scourged and crucified him:

If she knew her husband likes long hair and she cut her hair out of spite, but said it’s because of convenience, would it still be okay?
So what *are* the limits of what a husband can ask his wife? Are those limits negotiable depending on whether or not the husband is a prick?
Or is it, once they’re married, the wife can do whatever she damn well pleases because consent and bodily autonomy and her husband has zero say in this? She knows he won’t divorce her because he’s catholic and he has no way to prove it was her intent all along so there’s zero chance of him getting a declaration of Nullity.
So she can cut her hair, stop taking care of her health, get a tattoo, wear revealing clothing and her husband has no say in it because it would literally make him a Nazı? And before you accuse me of a slippery slope argument, if cutting hair without considering* anyone else but yourself is fine, then any line you draw is arbitrary.
*) Just for clarification: Considering DOES NOT mean asking anyone for permission
Any guy coming at women with this adversarial, hostile, paranoid, and controlling an attitude needs a massive amount of healing and maturation before he should even *think* about marriage. That you even feel the need to ask such preposterous questions makes clear to any normal woman that she should stay far away from you.
And you’re assuming that since I disagree with you in this matter, I support Driscoll and therefore I must be wrong, so you’ve decided to attack me as “adversarial, hostile, paranoid and controlling”.
It goes both ways. You’re projecting and it’s your attitude that’s adversarial and hostile. Attacking me is simply easier than actually responding.
The first rule of Dunning-Kruger Club is “You don’t know you’re in Dunning-Kruger Club.”
You’re almost self-aware there. You hanged on to my first sentence and then built your entire argument on that.
In a Christian marriage, bodily autonomy is not “you do you.” If you think it is, your understanding of marriage is definitely closer to Hollywood than Vatican.
While you struggle in vain to find where I said what you claim I said, i will be spending time with my wife, who I love and respect and who loves and respect me, not fretting about any of the absurd nonsense that appears to fill your mind. Hope you learn how to respect women and not meet them with the weird misogyny that informs your approach currently.
Hello Mark,
I cannot believe a “Man” made his pregnant wife cry over her haircut.
It’s hair. Hair grows back. Here’s a secret, after childbirth and hormonal fluctuations post birth, hair can fall out pretty drastically. No one wants strands of long hair wrapped around little baby fingers or toes.
When a wife is carrying the child of her husband, maybe the very least he could do is not post about what a man he is because he made his pregnant wife “weep” over her hair.
I wonder if this guy drives a big, 4 door pickup truck, with all that faux cowboy nonsense?
Says the guy who excuses Catholic couples using contraception and says that they would have 8 to 10 children otherwise. You sound like you based your entire knowledge of “Catholic church on sexuality” from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life.
And I’m not even American.
