…talking about how the pro-life movement (with the honorable exception of those who respect the Consistent Life Ethic of the actual Tradition) has morphed into the most spiritually and physically deadly heresy in the world, at war with Jesus Christ, at war with the Pope, at war with the least of these, at war with the Church, at war with the human race–and now at war with human life, both born and unborn, as it sells itself body and soul to a dimestore antichrist.

I’ve been involved in the US pro life movement for decades. I’ve never met anyone who has the ideas you say we all hold.
Btw, if the freedom of
Choice act came across Obama desk do you de y that he would have signed it!
Arguments from personal incredulity are nothing. The stats are with me. As for Obama, he made clear he had no interest in FOCA once he was elected. So did the rest of the Dems, which is why your imaginary scenario does not matter. Meanwhile, in the real world, Obama lowered abortion to its lowest point in history while the traitorous swine and rapist the “prolife” movement hails as its hero raise abortion rates 8% and killed a million Americans by bungling COVID. Now he is betraying the free world, proclaiming himself “Father of IVF”, destroying our democracy and our economy and trampling immigrants while his evil cult cheers for it all. Be ashamed.
“Obama lowered abortion to its lowest point in history”
The thing that bothers me about this argument is the typical correlation vs. causation spin suggesting that more easily accessible abortions are good because it reduces abortions. Although the position should make any sensible person seriously question the causal chain behind it, I have encountered it numerous times.
Of course, I don’t pretend that is your position. I’m sure you agree with me that the primary causal factors are most likely to be improved financial security and healthcare access on the part of couples at risk of seeking abortion, which reduces the incentive to seek it.
Nonetheless, the experiences of trying to make this point to those who have decided to promote the statistic as a reason in favor of easy abortion access still make me twitch when I read basically the same wording here, even though a different end is in mind.
Thanks for this informative discussion. I was an undergraduate when Francis Schaeffer burst on the scene with his “cool” “youthful” version of Calvinism, contemporaneously with Jesus Freak-dom. Several friends recommended Schaeffer’s books to me, and I found them to be sophistry, very intellectual and sophisticated but sophistry nonetheless. It’s interesting that Schaeffer’s son Frank left his father’s evangelical Calvinism and joined the Eastern Orthodox Church, totally rejecting the the entire Moral Majority program.
So good!
The MAGA fools in flyover country will get nothing from this man, except horse manure. The billionaires will be taken care of, as usual. Curiously, MAGA does not seem to get it. Are they really that stupid?
