Remember: For the Cult, empathy is only for the Self and that tiny minority who are extensions of the Self. All other human suffering is non-existent, contemptible, funny, and/or guilt manipulation.
For a minority in the MAGA cult, the Leader inadvertently taught them that Epstein’s victims should be admitted to the Circle of Empathy. So they did and now they have a personal stake in being the Heroic Saviors of Epstein’s victims (because at the end of the day it’s still All About Themselves).
But Trump’s adult victims? They were long ago dismissed as nuts, sluts, and liars. And the Cult envies Trump’s ability to rape them and get away with it. They want to be him.
And so they live in permanent cognitive dissonance between their fantasy of being the Heroic Saviors of the Victims of Epstein and the reality that they are vile predatory swine who think rape is funny and awesome.
It’s anybody’s guess how the minority of the Cult who care about the Epstein thing will resolve the dissonance (or if they will).
Meanwhile, Normals must work to bring justice and defeat these deeply corrupt, deeply evil, deeply stupid people and keep our eye on the real thing that matters: the victims. All of them, not just the “useful” ones. Human beings are not for using.
Using humans is the very core and essence of rape. As CS Lewis said, “The lustful man does not ‘want a woman’. He wants an experience for which the woman happens to be the necessary apparatus.” The Cult, at the end of the day, regards other human beings as objects of use, and Trump does this supremely. He gives deeply selfish people moral permission to hope that they can, like him, care only about themselves as he does. His rapes are one expression of this. But what the Cult fails to grasp, as the German people failed to grasp with Hitler, was that his adoring cult are just as disposable as everybody else and he will burn the whole world down before ever giving up his all-consuming selfishness.

It’s always been a mystery to me, how Evangelical Christian women can support a man who has been credibly accused of sexual assault by over 20 women. If you bring this up to them, they become angry and say that these accusations are all lies. They become quite agitated. Why? I think perhaps they know deep down that the accusations are true and the cognitive dissonance of supporting Trump and being a Christian really is a problem.
Regarding the Epstein files,if it was only Democrats, you can bet those files would be released. So,who is named and why are they being protected?

As regards the Epstein files, keep this useful thought in mind. Remember that DJT was not always a big famous success — he stumbled around from failure to failure in his career, til The Apprentice made him a big deal. When he was running with Epstein, Jeff was the successful rich guy, and DJT was a hanger-on, not the other way around.
He was not only a bad business man, his empire was falling–until Russia bailed out his huge loans defaulting with Deutsche bank. Now he is a billionaire. He can thank Putin and the Russian oligarchs who took him to a high mountain, and promised him the world.
White women are white supremacists above all other considerations of gender and class. They would vote for a man who has been credibly accused of sexual assault as long as the man supports white supremacy.

Dolan has proclaimed that Kirk was the modern St. Paul. Kirk’s beliefs – that the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which ended racial segregation, was a mistake; his denial that systemic racism exists; his promotion of the Great Replacement theory; and his offensive claims about Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, Michelle Obama -all were as saintly and theologically sound as St Pauls preachings. Woohoo!!!!
None of Dolan’s brother bishops have come forward to issue a fraternal correction. Their silence is their assent to that proclamation.

Some years ago, my daughter was a lead designer for Victoria’s Secret. At one of their big meetings, they were told that a very damaging series was coming out on one of the big networks about Lex Wexner. My daughter and her boss jumped ship. The series never aired.
