I studied the group’s positioning on race, religion, and culture. It seemed to me that every group wanted the same thing—in the name of protecting Whites, the submission or annihilation of any person, group, or race who wasn’t White.
“Recruiters don’t come at young minds promoting hatred of the other races—that comes later. What they always start with is love for the White race. Do you see what they’re doing to us? We’re being replaced. Schools now teach that Whites are bad. White families are no longer safe. Whites are being silenced. Being denied jobs. Denied religious freedoms. Being raped and murdered.
– The Hate Next Door, Matson Browning
The way the “Pro-life” and “family values” crowd is so easily seduced is by weaponizing The Family (i.e. ties of blood, clan, family, and tribe) against the Kingdom of God and its resolutely transcendental rejection of such ties whenever they get in the way of the love of neighbor.
That’s why a “pro-life/pro-family” MAGA priest stupidly posted this some years ago:

and was stone blind to the fact that the guy who made it is a self-professed Nazi:

“Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s foes will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and he who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it. (Mt 10:34–39)
And his mother and his brethren came; and standing outside they sent to him and called him. And a crowd was sitting about him; and they said to him, “Your mother and your brethren are outside, asking for you.” And he replied, “Who are my mother and my brethren?” And looking around on those who sat about him, he said, “Here are my mother and my brethren! Whoever does the will of God is my brother, and sister, and mother.” (Mk 3:31–35)
“If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. (Lk 14:26–27)

In my Instagram feed, I’m getting reels of young Israeli men saying the most vile and contemptuous things about Christians. I asked my son if these reels are fake, and he told me about a Jewish reporter who dressed like a Franciscan and walked with a Catholic priest in Jerusalem. He had a hidden camera. They were spat upon and disrespected egregiously.
My son says that the Talmud, which came after Christ ,is filled with blasphemy and hate mongering. It commands them to do such things.
I had no idea.
It’s so hard to sort out who is lying now. Another reel that came into my feed is claiming that the Israelis are seizing land, ancient churches and monasteries in the Armenian quarter in Jerusalem right now.
And of course Christians are being slaughtered by Boka Haram in Nigeria.
It’s hard not to feel disheartened. I keep going back to that prayer of St. Teresa:
Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things. Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.
The sermon on today’s gospel was pretty great too. The priest told us that God is in all of the details, even the smallest ones about us (like the number of hairs on our heads.)
It has to be said that the state of Israel does not represent the Jews or the Jewish faith worldwide. However, they do represent a significant subset of Jews and the Jewish faith and that grants them significant credibility.
What this means in practice is that Israel appropriated the use of the labels: “Antisemitism”, “Antisemitic” and “Antisemite” and uses them to silence and stifle, preemptively, or post-factum, any discussion criticizing the national(ist) interests of the state of Israel.
Which is why nobody is safe from being labeled an Antisemite, including fellow Jews, no matter how orthodox.
Israeli nazism/fascism/nationalism are not incidental or accidental. They are the very foundation of the state of Israel. Revisionist Zionism is not a fringe movement, let alone a conspiracy theory, it lies at the core of Israel and what it represents. I would advise anyone to read Ze’ev Jabotinsky’s biography on Wikipedia. It’s not contested, the page is not in an edit war, it’s not vandalized, it’s not whitewashed, there are no heated arguments on the contents of the page. It’s all laid bare.
If anyone needs yet another authority on the matter, Einstein in 1948 condemned Menachem Begin and the Likud party are “fascists”, “racists”, “criminals” and “terrorists” who will inevitably lead Israel to its “final destruction”.
The Talmud is a complicated matter. Some Jews reject it. Pharisaic Judaism of first century AD evolved into Rabbinic Judaism after the raze of Jerusalem and destruction of the Temple and since then, into modern Orthodox Judaism. It’s true that some Jews hold a certain disdain towards Christians and open dislike or even hate towards Messianistic Jews, but when not empowered by the state, they can’t do anything about it.
Conflating the state and religion, like in the case of Israel, however, they do become empowered to act out the hate.
And this brings us to secularism which is decidedly a Christian invention, which is why it cannot be expected to exist in Israel as long as religion is the unitive binding force of the nation.
Thank you. I read the Wikipedia page about Jabotinsky. I wonder if his ideal of creating a fair and legal cohabitation with the Arabs was real or just window dressing.
I looked up the ratio of Arabs/Jews/Christians over the years in the area. it never occurred to me that the name Palestine was derived from name for the Philistines–even if they were long gone when the Romans called it that.
Unfortunately and ironically the process often goes like this:
“The Founder was sent by Heaven to spread the message that we must treat all fellow humans with equal respect.”
“That’s a great message! Let’s spread the word of The Founder! Everyone will embrace it, surely!”
“Unfortunately there are some who reject The Founder. Clearly they must be evil, to do such a thing.”
“How can we recognise these servants of evil, so we can stand against them?”
“They often come from these particular nations, which are sunk in darkness. So you can know them by their skin colour, their hair, their clothing, and their language… they are doing the work of the evil one by raising their children to reject the message of The Founder.”
Rinse and repeat…
As Tom Lehrer said in his prelude to “National Brotherhood Week”: “I know that there are people who do not love their fellow man, and I hate people like that!”
