So a month ago I posted this…
and commented on the Book of Face:
To paraphrase St. John, If you do not love your neighbor whom you have seen, you do not love “the unborn” whom you have not seen. If the unborn are forever your human shields for your spite, cruelty, greed, and malice to the rest of the human race, you don’t give a shit about the unborn. You never did. The unborn are related to, not the opposite of, the rest of the human race upon which the MAGA cult preys like wolves.
To their great credit, the overwhelming percentage of my readers, who get the Church’s Consistent Life Ethic, agreed with my point.
However, precisely because so many readers agreed with me, they shared it on their walls and I wound up with over a thousand responses in the form of emojis and comments. And not all of them were people who are my normal readers.
So some of the responses were from MAGA cultists and members of the “prolife” heresy who still insist on using the unborn as human shields or on marinating in self-pity. I share some of their comments (and my replies) so that you might have some ideas about how to respond to the Cult when they try to weaponize the unborn in order to prey on their victims or make excuses for those who do.
One guy wrote:
“The unborn” are a convenient group of people to advocate against. They can’t rally against you in protest, they can’t remind you of their inalienable rights, you don’t have to look them in the eye when you kill them, they can’t vote, if you deny their personhood from the start you don’t even have to give them a proper burial. And so on.
Hopefully it is obvious to all that the unborn can be used as a matter of convenience by wicked hearts on either side of the issue of abortion. Knowing this, doesn’t that make us even more morally obligated to advocate for them out of genuine care, and not out of self interest? Instead of their convenient use by evil people being an excuse NOT to advocate for them, it is actually just that much more of a good reason to be on their side! We must give them – through charity – all that they lack through condition, so that if we ever do make judgements about them which are in our own favor, we can do so honestly with clean conscience and avoid deceiving ourselves.
I oppose abortion and always have, so your attempt to turn my point on its head is garbage. I said nothing about not advocating for the unborn. Nothing. But the “prolife” heresy constantly uses the unborn as human shields for its support for a host of predatory GOP evil.
Others reacted to the voices in his heads by writing:
Oh stop making excuses you hypocrite. You created the human life because of having sex out of wedlock. History isnt kind to those who devalue any form of human life. Just ask the Jews. If you undervalue the lives of those who are most vulnerable because you can, then why do you expect the human race to normalize kindness to each other when you cant even get THAT right? When you normalize the killing of the vulnerable for whatever excuse you give, then this is precisely why so many wars happen. EVERY life is precious and that doesn’t change just because someone chooses to devalue YOU. All of us are called to a higher standard, because we can’t coexist whenever morality is subjective.

“Kids are not properly taken care of in my opinion, so they should be killed instead”. The unborn have a right to live, and the born should be treated with dignity. Two things can be true at once.

Perhaps the most idiotic view of Scripture I’ve ever seen. Basically excusing the murder in the US of over 1.2 million babies a year. If you think that’s God’s will, then you’ve got a problem with God. Jesus said, “Suffer not the little children to come unto me.” In your view, Hr only lives the born and not those still in the womb. To which I reply:
Tell me where I argued for abortion. I oppose abortion. I also oppose your evil death cult’s use of the unborn as human shields for the host of grave evils you commit. Your lies don’t work here. It is your MAGA cult that has raised abortion rates 30% since Obama brought them to their lowest rates since Roe. You did that.
PS. Scripture says nothing about abortion directly. You are reading the Bible through the lens of Catholic tradition and you don’t realize it. Nobody dehumanized anybody. What is being discussed is the “prolife” heresy’s cynical use of the unborn as human shields for MAGA selfishness, cruelty, racism, rape, and murder. Nobody spoke a word against the unborn. But thanks for demonstrating the “prolife” heresy’s habit of projection.
Then, there is the obligatory, “Don’t blame me!” reaction from the narcissist:
Way to project your presumptions onto a group of people. I am pro life, a foster and adoptive parent, volunteer at drug abuse and for women’s shelters. Your presumptions and ignorant views don’t make abortion any less of a murder
Why do you insist on wearing shoes you claim don’t fit you? Good for you if you observe a consistent life ethic. But the reality is that the overwhelming majority of those who claim to be “prolife” passionately support a child-raping mass murderer. If your first and only response to that fact is not, “That is evil and must end” but simply “Don’t blame me” you are not thinking of the unborn, but of yourself. Address the elephant in the room, not your precious hurt feels.
And finally, another bloodthirsty member of the “prolife” heresy wrote:

Your evil cult of death overwhelmingly defends a child rapist and sex predator, as well as a mass murderer conducting an unjust war and helping to kill millions with the destruction of USAID. You don’t give a shit about human life.
It’s only complicated if you want it to be. The unborn are related to, not the opposite of, all the forms of human life the MAGA cult of death wants to rob, harm, oppress, rape, and murder. Stop using them as human shields for your sociopathic orange messiah.

Some of the crazier “pro lifers” want to investigate women who have had miscarriages. They might even jail women who have suffered miscarriages. A few of the really crazy want to monitor women’s menstrual cycles to ferret out any possible “abortion.” Insanity. MAGA seems to be fine with this intrusive nonsense with women’s pregnancies.
They might even so called “pro life” has become a cult, devoid of logic and respect for women. There will be a reaction to this insanity.
