This is the fundamental contradiction at the heart of the MAGA “prolife” Cult of Death. It doesn’t want to save the unborn. It wants to hang on to its stuff, even if that means forcing women to abort due to the enormous economic pressure that puts on them and then, to salve its conscience and feel morally superior, it wants to punish women who caved to the enormous pressure MAGA put on them to abort and pose as Saviors of the Innocent.
The MAGA Cult of Death are Judas Iscariot, holding a press conference to condemn the failure of the apostles to rescue Jesus and then pledging to build a nice Trump hotel on the Field of Blood they just purchased in a sweet real estate deal.
The only exception to this are those pro-lifers who actually live out the Consistent Ethic of Life–and they are routinely reviled by the MAGA “prolife” Cult of Death as, in the words of MAGA Catholic Eric Sammons, “diluting” opposition to abortion by failing to use the unborn as human shields for MAGA predators.

Instead, “prolife” MAGA Catholic whores like JD Vance defend whatever Trump does (including this) and use (as Sammons used) the cry “We have to focus on abortion, not this distraction!” in order to focus all their time and energy on defending this act if mass murder, not the unborn. Vance, in fact, told the filthy lie that USAID was “spreading atheism” as he helped condemn millions to death in the teeth of the Church’ actual outcry against this monstrous crime.

Aid programs are cut to pay for tax cuts for the rich, which is the overriding goal. Elon is not rich enough. We must make him even richer. This is the real purpose to cuts to the various programs. Medicaid has already been cut, Social Security and Medicare are next. Gotta pay for everything more tax cuts for billionaires. The whole “pro life” theme is a fraud. Unfortunately, many so called “pro lifers” are too stupid to understand this.
I have long held that the standard-issue “prolife” belief architecture is so popular and narcotically appealing because it requires very little of those who ascribe to it. It demands only that they think the “right” thoughts and say the “right” things. If you fulfill those obligations, you’re in great shape, and good for you, and your soul is right with God. That belief structure lays all of its actual burdens upon other people: those who consider aborting the child they carry, those who make the poor choice to be something other than heteronormative, etc. THEY, over there, those others, they need to change their behaviors. But over here? I’m all good. I say and pray the “right” things. Nothing further is asked of me. It strikes me as the cheapest of graces. And for that reason, perhaps so desperately clung to.
As to Elon, who put USAID through a wood chipper and said it was fun, he’s got hurt feelings these days. He’s said that the USAID cuts haven’t killed anybody, so there! And when journalists come back with figures, he says that numbers don’t count, when nobody can actually name a single person who died!! And when NYTimes columnist Nick Kristof, who has traveled extensively in Africa, writes an article naming actual people who actually died because they no longer had access to medical care or to food? Well Elon says he’s just lying so there!
Easy enough, and he couldn’t be wrong since he’s so rich, right?
I don’t really understand what the second billion dollars does for a person, let alone many billions. There’s nothing you want that you can’t have if you’ve got a billion. I’m sort of a simpleton.
Elon and the top billionaires have hundreds of billions of $$,but it’s not enough. Many American families go hungry, but Elon needs more money,so brace yourself for more tax cuts with cuts to social programs to pay for them. Then, the Congressional Republicans prattle about how much they care and how moral they are.
