I am a total sucker for a “dinosaurs loose in suburbia” flick.
You say, “It sounds dumb”.
My reply, “Your point?”
You are talking to the guy who loved the T Rex chasing a gang of Japanese tourists down a San Diego street, feasting on screenwriter David Koepp, and rolling a 76 ball at Jeff Goldblum in JURASSIC PARK: THE LOST WORLD.
Heck! I love THE VALLEY OF GWANGI!
So Penelope and Young Obi-Wan menaced by prehistoric monsters? What’s not to love?
(Also, just to be a pedant, virtually every animal on earth is “prehistoric”. Even your foo foo yip dog with an underbite is descended from wolves that prowled forests long before the invention of writing. And everything before the invention of writing is pre-historic. History was invented by Herodotus, and on the scale of Deep Time, the past few thousand years is barely an eyeblink.)

On the contrary! A great contribution to cinema!
