Christ Sides with the Lowly Redux

As I have repeatedly said, “Christ sides with the lowly.” This proposition constantly makes enemies because fallen man sides with the powerful against the lowly. So in war, when you side with the innocent victims of war on both sides, you immediately enrage those who side with the powerful on one side. Such people immediatel assume you to side with the powerful on the other side.

Case in point, these notes from two of the Greatest Catholics of All Time this morning, written in response to the image below, which I posted on the Book of Face, along with the caption “Inasmuch as you did it to the least of these, you did it to me”:

You call yourself a Catholic, posting this kind of blasphemous filth against the Holy Mother?

You can burn in hell with Luther.

“Was the Virgin Mary Muslim? Is that even a real image to the right? Looks like a AI generated image.”

It’s called “quoting the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats”. That you think it “blasphemous” to agree that Jesus and Mary identify with innocent victims, wherever in the human race they are found, says everything about your grasp of the gospel, none of it good. That you wish a brother in Christ and total stranger to burn in hell for believing the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats… well, God bless you and bring you to repentance.

Learn the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats (Matthew 25:31-46). Jesus does not do a religious identity check on innocent victims of war before he identifies himself with them. Nor does Our Lady. As to the issue of whether the image is AI, as far as I know, this is a photograph, but if it turned out not to be, what conceivable difference could it possibly make to the point? I could put up an image we *know* to be manmade, a painting or a drawing, and the point would remain just as valid. Only a fool would argue that an illustration rather than a photograph of the desperate women and children in Gaza means that there are no desperate women and children in Gaza. Half the population of Gaza is children. Half. So sure, keep pettifogging about AI. Only somebody with no understanding of the gospel argues that defending those innocent women and children is somehow an insult to Our Lady and Our Lord.

Only the hard right sect of fear and malice from the Upside Down has managed to work itself into a state where somebody who supports the Holy Father (including his calls for mercy to innocents in war zones) is identified with Luther and somehow worthy of the fires of Hell, while malignant defenses for bombing women and children and hatred for “Bergoglio the Dictator Antipope” are now the very definition of Truly True Orthodox Catholic Faith.

And only in that sect is the deeply Christlike response “Eat a bag of d*cks” regarded as “Defending the Faith” because the asterisk is a moral disinfectant.

Hamas uses innocents (both its own population and Israeli hostages) as human shields for its violent lust for power. So does the Reactionary “prolife” MAGA antichrist religion in the Church. It’s a sect that deeply believes that rubbing its Precious Feet pin confers a 007 on killing any innocent in the world that gets in the way of its lust for nihilist power.
