Yeah. That’s really kind of it. I have no particular devotion to the Dem party. I certainly have no personal devotion to Dem politicians. The idea of looking at a Dem pol the way the weirdos and cultists in MAGA routinely look at Trump is absolutely foreign to me.
Such looks should be reserved for the Son of the Living God. I don’t believe politics is salvation. Only MAGA believe such nonsense. I support the Dem party for the same reason I support a wrench when a loose screw needs to be tightened: because it is the right tool for the job of fixing ever so many loose screws. When it has done the job I will be glad of it, but I will not worship it.
This year I am voting a straight Democratic ticket from Senator to dogcatcher–because I am prolife. In addition to opposing this pack of war criminals…
the Dems also consistently lower the abortion rate (with Obama bringing it to its lowest rate since Roe). Meanwhile the MAGA “prolife” death cult raised it 30% since Obama–and they are Nazis.

I don’t like the Democrats, but they are the classic “lesser of two evils.” Rarely, doe get a politician who is really good.
As I never tire of saying, we cannot support the lesser of two evils. Nobody can say, “Since I am not committing murder, it’s okay for me to rape.” But we *can* and must work to *lessen* evil when we cannot eliminate it. The Dems are trying to do that. The GOP is actively laboring to increase evil.
I live in Mass and the governor just signed a bill to legalize abortion until birth. How is she lessening evil? Even plenty of dems opposed the law. She is working to increase evil.

Like all your evil cult of lies, you simply ignore the fact that the issue with abortion is not supply but demand and that Dems lower the abortion rate by lowering the economic pressure to abort while your filthy, evil, lying cult successfully raised the abortion rate by a third under Trump by your sadism to the poor. You lie. You do nothing but lie. And you know you lie, which is why you never use your real name. The right tool for tightening screws is a screwdriver. Unfortunately that’s not one of our options right now.
I’ll take a wrench over gasoline and a match any day, don’t get me wrong. But if we weren’t holding the Democratic Party up next to nazis, we’d see them for the evil that they are: Corporate shills, warmongers, ardent supporters of genocide as long as it’s happening over there somewhere, and most importantly, their reliance on the idea that we have to vote for them or else the nazis win (which is, unfortunately, true for the immediately foreseeable future) means that they need to keep having nazis to be less evil than. (Mind you, there are a lot more Democrats who actually give a fig than there are Republicans, but the party as an organization tends to hate them almost as much as the Republicans do.)
I don’t have a solution for this. I keep hearing “Vote in the primaries!” and “Vote down the ticket” and while those are good and necessary, they have their limits. Especially when it comes to the presidency: If you’re not a Super Tuesday state you may as well leave that one blank, because by the time your state has its election, any candidates worth voting for have dropped out. At the most local level, depending on where you are, it’s likely that the few who aren’t running unopposed have basically no information about them available anywhere (and don’t even have a party affiliation listed on the ballot).
Obviously, none of this means we should give up and do nothing. I’m not saying this out of despair. What I am saying, though, is that we need to have a plan for what happens next. We can’t just put the Democrats in power and hope that fixes things, because power corrupts and the system is, if not rigged, at least heavily weighted in favor of giving power mainly to the already-corrupt. I have no idea what that plan should be, but we as a country need to figure it out sooner rather than later. At the very least, we can’t get complacent and start thinking of the Democrats as the Good Guys that we don’t need to worry about.
Until then, we unfortunately have to keep voting for whatever keeps the Turd Reich at bay.
